Peach cobbler is famous in the United Kingdom as well as the United States. This fruity dessert is covered in pastry and then baked in the oven, although you can make a delicious crockpot version if you prefer. There are also stovetop variations which are popular in New England and other areas but using a slow cooker is still the easiest way to make this classic dessert because once the mixture is in there you just have to leave it. It will not dry out either because the tight lid holds all the moisture inside so your cobbler can cook gently and slowly by itself.
You can use fresh or thawed peaches for the recipe, as both will work. The peaches are combined with vanilla, cinnamon and more, for a mouthwatering result. The biscuit mix means you do not need to make a pastry dough by hand and it gives this crockpot peach cobbler just the right texture. Serve this peach cobbler warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped heavy cream or even both!
You will need a three quart crockpot for this recipe although you could use a slightly bigger one if that is what you have. Feel free to leave out some of the sugar if you do not have a particularly sweet tooth. Most people like cobber recipes to be quite sweet so you can taste the cobbler mixture before adding it to the crockpot if you like. That would be the easiest way to tell if it is sweet enough.
