This is a great meal for two if you serve it over creamy mashed potatoes. You can also try potato wedges, noodles, or French fries. Pretty much any side dish goes well with this honey chicken recipe. The mustard and honey combine well and the tapioca, also known as cassava, works by thickening up the sauce. As you would expect, this recipe combines the sweetness of honey with the piquancy of mustard, resulting in a great flavor. Honey and mustard are used in many crockpot chicken recipes and this flavor pairing is also nice for salad dressing and sauces.
Tapioca is a flavorless, colorless starch. It is gluten free and pearl tapioca is the most common commercial form of this thickening agent. This honey mustard chicken takes four hours to make so you can start it after lunch if you want to make it for dinner. You can use any kind of honey you happen to have but clear, runny honey is best in most crockpot recipes because it blends well with the other ingredients, has a nice flavor, and is runny enough to be mixed in properly.
The easiest way to get honey off a spoon is to heat it over a flame before you pick up the honey with it. The easiest way to get honey out of a cup is to oil the cup before you start. This might sound very simple but it works. It is better than holding the cup upside down waiting five minutes for the honey to finish running out of it anyway! If you are looking for fresh ideas for dinner recipes, what about making this honey mustard chicken for tonight's dinner? Everybody will really enjoy it.
