Slow Cooker Meat and Seafood Jambalaya

Ingredients -

1 cup cooked rice
½ lb cooked shrimp, shelled
⅛ teaspoon cayenne
2 cups beef broth or bouillon
2 teaspoons oregano leaves, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
2 teaspoons thyme leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons parsley, minced
8 oz chicken breast, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
4 oz smoked sausage, chopped
½ teaspoon salt

Preparation:

Halve the shrimp lengthwise.

Combine everything except the rice and shrimp in the crockpot and mix together well.

Cover and cook on a low heat for 9 or 10 hours.

Turn the crockpot to high, add the rice and shrimp, cover, and cook for another 20 or 30 minutes on high, until everything is hot.
